Depository Area

This is where you are supposed to deposit your things except valuables.

Reference Desk


This section handles reference queries and gives informal instruction to users on how to use the Card Catalog, OPAC and other Bibliographic Tools for effective and efficient use of library materials. It also handles the charging and discharging of books and other library materials from the different sections of the library.

Reserve Section


This section provides and monitors the use of required readings assigned by the Faculty for their classes. It also include books with limited copies and highly demanded by the students. The use of these books is limited to one class period and maybe renewed if not demanded by others.

Filipiniana Section


This section holds all reading materials written by Filipino authors or those about the Philippines written by foreign authors. They are not allowed to be taken out. A title of more than two copies maybe borrowed for overnight use starting 4:30 p.m. And must be returned the following morning from 7:30-8:30 a.m.

 

Circulation Section


This portion has the biggest collections of the Library where books of fiction and non-fiction are located. Books from this section can be brought outside the library premises for home use. It also includes Teacher's Reference books. The books are arranged by class number according to Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme. For your convenience, we have a classification guide posted to help you locate which book is assigned to a particular subject.

 

Teacher's Reference Area


This contains books, teacher's guides, manuals and other reading materials to support the instructional needs and research activities of the faculty .Books from this section can be brought outside the library for home use. However, books without duplicate copies may be borrowed for overnight use only.

 

Periodical Section


This section holds current issues of journals, magazines, newspapers (national and local) and bound periodicals. It also contains clippings of important articles from the national newspapers and pamphlets that are displayed in an open stack for easy access of the clients. They are for room use only. However, they can be borrowed for classroom use for only one period and for photocopying.

 

Electronic Resource Section

This center offers Internet services and Compact Disc Read Only Memory (CD-ROM) databases of reference materials such as Webster's Concise Encyclopedia and other titles. Searches in CD-ROM can be done by typing the topic or subject needed on the keyboard. Simple instruction on how to searching appears on the screen.
